MIT Admission Requirements for Indian Students

  • Research experience: For EECS and engineering PhDs, peer-reviewed publications or conference papers (NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ICLR, VLDB, etc.) are virtually required for competitive candidates. Industry research experience at a top lab (Google Research, DeepMind, Microsoft Research India) is highly valued.
  • GRE: Not required by most MIT departments (waived since 2022). However, a Quant score of 167–170 can still be listed and signals strength in quantitative disciplines.
